We live together, sail together, and run this business together. That is why the crew you get on a Martha’s Vineyard sailing charter with us is unlike any other.
Mason and Lynne are the Martha’s Vineyard charter captains behind Our Passion, a 42-foot ketch departing from Vineyard Haven.
Meet Your Captains
It Started on the Charles River
Captain Mason has been sailing since he was nine years old. He learned on the Charles River in Boston, where he grew up. On family vacations to Martha’s Vineyard they would rent sunfish and Hobie catamarans and sail the protected waters of Lagoon Pond in Vineyard Haven.
He later moved to New York City and then back to Massachusetts, but one question followed him everywhere.
“Where am I going to get to sail, and how often am I going to be able to do it?”
That question led him to buy a sailboat in 2014 and to structure his time around sailing and working on boats with every free minute he had.
Turning Passion Into Profession
Then, in 2016, Mason Met Lynne
Lynne was an instant convert to life on the water and could not get enough of being on a sailboat. As their relationship grew, they built it around sailing — especially in the waters surrounding Martha’s Vineyard.
Starting a business together became the next logical step. They pursued their captain’s licenses and turned a passion into a profession.
What you will notice sailing with them is that safety, strict compliance with federal, state, and local law, and their guests’ needs sit at the front of every decision they make. Sailing may still be the hobby. It is the business now, and it is their passion to give you the best day of your Vineyard vacation.
